Hello. I am Marj Massie. I am based just west of Glasgow in Scotland. I founded Secretary4hire in 2006. I manage the business and my small team of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals. We all have a common goal – helping you!
I have worked in several disciplines including banking, insurance, Independent Financial Advisors, life assurance & pensions, the building trade, conveyancing, law (conveyancing, litigation, criminal), medical (NHS and private), actuarial, geology, licensed trade, hotel industry & event planning.
Although Secretary4hire can and do provide a range of services, we specialise in transcription services, with decades of experience in this discipline.
As a professional business and as you would expect, we are registered with the ICO, we are fully GDPR compliant with professional indemnity insurance. We are also members of several professional VA bodies such as the Society of Virtual Assistants.

Nicky Ferkins
Nicky is Secretary4hire’s longest serving and most trusted team member. She has been with us for many years and is Marj’s “right hand woman”. She is an expert transcriber with over 30 years of experience.
Margaret Hall
Margaret has been with Secretary4hire for many years also. Margaret is our resident expert in technical transcription and accents. Nothing fazes her, except perhaps a Yorkshire accent! Japanese, Arabic – no problem. Yorkshire? Well just goes to show, no-one’s perfect.
